Xilinx 2.5-D Virtex-7 2000T named China ACE Awards 2012 FPGA of the Year

The folks at Xilinx are bouncing around with excitement because their Virtex-7 2000T device has just been named the China ACE Awards 2012 FPGA of the Year.

The Virtex-7 2000T is the world's highest density FPGA, delivering greater than 2X the capacity and bandwidth offered by the largest monolithic devices while delivering the time-to-volume advantages of smaller die. Utilizing innovative 2.5D stacked silicon interconnect (SSI) technology, the Virtex-7 2000T FPGA integrates 2 million logic cells, 6.8 billion transistors and 12.5 Gb/s serial transceivers on a single device, offering unprecedented system integration in addition to ASIC prototyping and ASIC replacement capabilities.

"The China ACE Awards honors the people, companies and technologies behind advances in mainland China's semiconductor industry, especially in terms of enhanced efficiencies and performances through innovative design," said Brandon Smith, President of Global Sources' joint venture subsidiary eMedia Asia Ltd. "Particularly those that have the ability to shift market dynamics and lift the status of mainland China's electronics industry higher on the world stage."

Xilinx Senior Vice President and Asia Pacific Executive Leader, Vincent Tong, accepted the award at a reception held on Friday, February 24 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in conjunction with the 17th International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China)

"We're honored to accept this prestigious award from Global Sources on behalf of Xilinx engineers across the globe who've participated in development and delivery of the world's first 2.5-D FPGA," said Tong.  "It's especially meaningful that so many EE Times-China readers cast their votes for Virtex-7 2000T in this year's competition, in recognition of this major technology milestone for Xilinx and the semiconductor industry, delivering 'more than Moore' at the 28nm process node to today's engineering teams."

The China ACE Awards 2012 received over 300 entries from international and domestic semiconductor and test companies doing business in mainland China.  Click Here for more information on the China ACE Awards 2012.
