TDK expands its lineup of multilayer ceramic chip capacitors with new low-resistance resin electrode products

TDK has expanded its CN series multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC) product lineup, which is the first product of its kind. The new 3216 size product (3.2 x 1.6 x 1.6 ㎜) has a capacitance of 10 μF, and the 3225 size (3.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 ㎜) has a capacitance of 22 ㎌. It provides low-resistance resin electrodes and has low terminal resistance equivalent to standard products.

Achieves low resistance comparable to standard products, and the resin layer covers only part of the terminal electrode.

· The capacitance of the new 3216 size product is 10㎌, and the capacitance of the 3225 size product is 22㎌

· Comply with AEC-Q200 standard

TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) has expanded its CN series multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC) product lineup, which is the first product of its kind. The new 3216 size product (3.2 x 1.6 x 1.6 ㎜) has a capacitance of 10 μF, and the 3225 size (3.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 ㎜) has a capacitance of 22 ㎌. It provides low-resistance resin electrodes and has low terminal resistance equivalent to standard products. . The new product will begin mass production in September 2021.

MLCCs with resin electrodes prevent short circuits in the power cord. However, since the terminal electrode resistance of the resin electrode is slightly higher, the resistance must be kept low to reduce loss. TDK's new resin electrode is covered with a resin layer on the mounting side of the circuit board, which can resist the bending stress of the circuit board while suppressing the increase in resistance.

According to TDK, these products will promote the use of resin electrodes to replace MLCC in power cords to improve reliability. Compared with traditional products, the new product has a higher capacity, which helps to reduce the number of parts and reduce the size of MLCC. In the future, TDK will continue to expand its MLCC product lineup to meet customer needs.
