Emerging display tech on display at SID 2012

MANHASSET, NY -- The Society for Information Display is providing a forum for live demonstrations of emerging information display technologies prototypes in the “Innovation Zone” at the June 3-8 Display Week 2012.

Researchers will demonstrate new displays, input technologies, and innovations in related fields such as lighting and organic electronics in the I-Zone. The I-Zone Committee will select a winner of the "Best Prototype at Display Week" award.

The demo list includes the following among others:
 
  • Large imperceptible color breakup color filterless LCD using the 180Hz Stencil-FSC method
  • High frame rate surface pressure imaging and pressure sensing multitouch tech
  • LED/optic flexible alphanumeric digital display
  • Re-writable and re-usable electronic paper technology
  • 22in. 3-D-TFT-monitors without glasses
  • Solid-state light source technology for projection displays
  • Headsetless consumer eye gaze technology
  • Capacitively-coupled wireless power transfer system for mobile & e-paper
  • Transparent projection display technology

In addition to the I-Zone SID 2012 attendees can get scheduled demos at various exhibitor booths.
