Agilent acquires AT4 for LTE wireless testing

MANHASSET, NY -- Agilent Technologies Inc. and AT4 wireless have signed a definitive agreement for Agilent to acquire the assets of AT4 wireless’ Test Systems business.

Privately held AT4 wireless (Malaga, Spain) is a global provider of testing services and solutions for wireless communications.

The acquisition is expected to be completed by early August, subject to customary closing conditions. Financial details were not disclosed.

The wireless test portfolio from AT4 wireless will enable Agilent to offer its customers broader set of test solutions in the rapidly growing LTE market. In addition, the acquisition will expand Agilent’s wireless test footprint by adding NFC/RFID and Bluetooth test solutions for conformance and R&D.

“LTE represents the future of wireless communications, and AT4 wireless has a proven track record of delivering innovative conformance and R&D test solutions to the market, when the market needs them,” said Guy Séné, president of Agilent’s Electronic Measurement Group.

AT4's Test Systems business for 17 years has certified testing activities with advanced system designs and architectures and used in test houses and chip set manufacturers.

The Test Systems business includes 130 employees in Malaga, who will transfer to Agilent when the acquisition is final.

AT4 wireless’ other businesses – Testing & Certification Services and IT Services & Solutions – are not part of the pending acquisition by Agilent.
